TITLE: SUCCESSFUL MANAGEMENT OF QUALITY PLACEMENTS AND INTERNSHIPS
GRUNDTVIG TRAINING COURSE

OBJECTIVES
This training course introduces participants to the best practices in the field of managing placements and internships and provides a guide for the quality of the placements.

METHODOLOGY
The course will begin with discussion on the model and tools available for managing internships. The organizational model will be presented and explained. Models and tools of cooperation with enterprises will be presented and discussed. The trainees will be presented with the methodology and tools for measuring the quality of placements. The quality assurance system for mobility placements will be defined and presented. The quality management unit, a quality plan, the quality indicators for managing mobility as well as the quality of staff involved will be presented and discussed.

FOLLOW-UP
The trainees will be encouraged to adjust the guide of good practices and the quality management system to their institution and produce one for their own work environment.

PROGRAMME OF THE TRAINING ACTIVITIES
The programme of activities begin with an introduction to the course, cultural market place set-up, information about the European policy, and a presentation of the INENTER project results and presentation and discussion of the Survey Report.
The participants of the course are introduced to the Guide of Good Practices and Quality for Placements:, the Models and Tools for Managing Internships, the Models and Tools of Cooperation with Enterprises, and the Methodology and Tools for Measuring the Quality of Placements. The current University Practices in the Management of Transnational Placements, with practical examples and samples are also from universities presented and explained. There is a course assignment and SWOT Analysis. Participants receive hands on practice by developing an action plan. They continue with the Set up of Quality indicators to manage mobility.

Further, the INENTER Project participated in the Exhibition Fair within ERACON Congress 2012 on 19^th and 20^th April 2012. On 20^th April 2012, another INENTER Session, the Euro-Mediterranean ERASMUS, took place within the ERACON Congress. The European Association of Career Guidance (EACG) in cooperation with the European Association of Erasmus Coordinators (EAEC) & Babes-Bolyai University, organizes the 3rd CAREER EU conference in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, between the 18th-22nd April 2012.

On 14 December the European Youth Forum (EYF), in cooperation with MEPs, various civil society and youth organisations, issued a call to action to tackle youth unemployment, by launching the European Quality Charter on Internships and Apprenticeships, during a conference organised with the support of the OECD. Moreover, the EYF has recently launched the results of ‘Interns Revealed’, a pan-European survey, which gathered close to 4 000 responses, designed to look into the lives of interns across Europe, and discover why the latest generation of young people seems to have become the ‘intern generation’.

This year the focus of CareerCon will be:

• A toolbox for the implementation of the “Q-Planet” European standard for Quality placements will also be presented and discussed.

The report provides an overview of the current status of University-Business Cooperation in the European Member-States.
